Invasive Species Volunteer Committee Meet Up

  • Penn Forest Natural Burial Park 121 Colorado Street Verona, PA, 15147 United States (map)

We’re inviting community members to get their hands in the soil with us this spring and summer to help manage invasive species at Penn Forest. Work alongside Grounds Manager Thom Wood to identify and remove non-native plants in support of the forest’s long-term ecological health.

Volunteer tasks may include hand-pulling stiltgrass, monitoring treated areas, and protecting newly restored native plant zones. All with guidance, tools, and training provided.

We’ll offer a mix of scheduled weed-pulling gatherings and flexible open hours in pre-marked areas, so you can participate in a way that fits your schedule.

This is a meaningful way to care for the land, honor those buried here, learn forestry stewardship skills, and contribute to the long-term restoration of our forest.

We would truly love your help.

Our first meeting will take place on March 21st. We hope to see you there!
