I Need More Information About Green Burial or Penn Forest

Green burial (also called natural burial) is a way of caring for the dead with minimal environmental impact. Its main requirements are that caskets or burial shrouds must be biodegradable, toxic embalming fluids are prohibited, and burial vaults are not used. Grave markers, if desired, are made from local stone or wood and placed flat to the ground. Penn Forest Natural Burial Park is the first and only certified natural burial grounds in Pennsylvania and is located on 35-acres of forestland in Penn Hills, 13-miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
